Still Hands

Ella started making these after we moved to Japan.
It’s quieter here. It helps. Less noise, more time to just sit and make.
Stillness does wonders for the hands.

The charms are loosely inspired by folk art—ornamental, personal, never perfect.
Each one’s built from beads Ella picked up on her travels. Some new, some old.
A few came from old markets. Others from forgotten drawers in countryside shops.
Glass, ceramic, wood—each bead passed through someone else’s hands before reaching hers.

No two are the same.
